Start your garden from seeds, now! A Master Gardener and farmer's market grower for six years with a special interest in heirloom tomatoes will share his secrets for successful vegetable propagation from seed, noting ways to avoid common problems encountered in the home setting.

Invasive Plants
Professor in the UWRF Biology Department, Dr. Wheeler has been waging a battle against invasive plants in our area. He will help us identify and remove garlic mustard, know weed and wild parsnip from our environment.

Patented Plants to Biodiversity
Professor in the UWRF Plant and Earth Sciences Department and Extension Commercial Fruit Specialist, Dr. Smith developed the patent pending "Lydecker" plum. He will discuss his own work, patented plants in general, genetically engineered plants and the value of biodiversity.

Tour the Foster Cemetery / Conservation Area
with local historian Ursula Peterson and Prairie Enthusiast Wayne Huhnke, of Kinnickinnic Natives (owned with his wife and RFGC member Michelle Bredahl). Wayne has been instrumental in rescuing this site from invasives and neglect and returning it to the oak savanna it once was. Wayne will tell us how the Prairie Enthusiasts proceed in recognizing and preserving these precious prairie remnants.
