Minutes of the September 2009 meeting

President Betty Schultz called the meeting to order.

A motion was made Susan R by to accept the June minutes as printed in the September newsletter.  The motion was seconded by JoAnn L.  Motion passed.

Members discussed gardening over the summer.  For some members it was not a great gardening year, for other an ok year and for a few members, a great year.  Cucumber and tomato blight were common this year.

Susan R will update the club about America in Bloom in October.

The May 2009 plant sale was discussed briefly.  Everyone agreed the sale was a fantastic success.

Members should start thinking about dividing your perennials in the spring or even this fall to prepare for the 2010 plant sale.  Next year’s sale will be as early as possible, Saturday, May 8.

Betty S show the club a wonderful cookbook, The Market Fresh Cookbook.  The cookbook has lots of great recipes for fresh produce.
