Minutes from the October 5, 2009 Meeting

President Betty Schultz called the meeting to order at 7:05pm.

As there were no additions or corrections to the minutes as printed in the newsletter, a motion was made by Susan R, seconded by JoAnn L to accept the September 2009 minutes.  Motion passed.

Budget ideas were discussed.  Some ideas included:

Landscaping shrubs for the library children’s room expansion.  Kim will get an estimate.
Veteran’s Memorial – donate the cost of an evergreen bed and bench.
Increasing or adding another scholarship.
Funds for plantings or landscaping for Habitat for Humanity.
Funds for Second Street gardens.
Farm Technology Days landscaping

Send any budget ideas to either Mae W or Betty S.

Books need to be purchased for the River Falls Public Library before the end of the year.  Susan R suggested a book about lawn care without chemicals and Kim K suggested the Wisconsin Master Gardener series on DVD.

Susan R presented the highlights of River Fall’s winning entry in America in Bloom.  The club donated a copy of the America in Bloom book that was prepared for River Fall’s entry into the contest.
