Minutes from the November 2009 Meeting

President Betty Schultz called the meeting to order at 7:05pm.

As there were no additions or corrections to the minutes, Susan Reese made a motion to accept the minutes as printed in the newsletter.  The motion was seconded by Carolyn Barrett and passed.

Budget
The group will vote on a budget at the December meeting.  Treasurer Mae Wolfe discussed the draft of the 2010 budget.

One change was adding a third UWRF horticulture scholarship rather than increasing the amount of the existing two scholarships.

Budget ideas for community gardens were discussed.  Mae will increase the amount for community gardens in the 2010 budget.

There will be a copy of the 2010 budget in the December newsletter.

Library Purchases

The club discussed library purchases.  Betty suggested a pocket guide to herbs.  Kim will buy materials for the library from the 2009 budget.

Other

Members discussed aspects of root cellars and cold storage.

Volunteers may be needed to help with the December meeting.

Mae has a tree catalog with great prices and free shipping until the end of November.  If you would like a copy, Mae will scan the catalog and email you a copy.

Plant Sale

The next plant sale will be Saturday, May 8.  This is the Saturday before Mother’s Day and the earliest possible date for the sale.  Mae will confirm our reservation with the Armory for the May 8.

Election of Officers

Officers will need to be elected at the next meeting for 2010.  Contact Betty if you are willing to serve.

Board Meeting

Current board members will meet sometime before the end of the year.
