Minutes from the December 7, 2009 meeting

President Betty Schultz called the meeting to order.

2010 Officer Nominations

The following slate of officers was nominated.

Betty S made a motions to accept the nominations, seconded by Bob J.  The motion passed.

Treats

Who will bring treats will be decided at each meeting so there is always a volunteer for the next month. 

Budget

After discussion about the budget as presented by Mae W, Bob J made a motion to approve the 2010 budget, seconded by Jo F.  Motion passed.

Program Topics
The following program topics/speaker were suggested by members:

Apple trees, fruit trees, a field trip to Mark Christopher’s orchard (possibly in June), Wills Mills at Circle K farm, Paula Kleintjes-Neff, Rush River Produce, root grafting, growing grapes, peaches, wild edibles, birds, Spring Valley Roses, grasses, harvest storage and preserving, farmers market, food storage, hops & brewing (Kim), the mechanical side of gardening equipment, ergonomics of gardening and plant pathology.

In June, we should not have a speaker but rather wrap up the plant sale and have a tour after the business meeting.  May should be a very short presentation so there is more time for plant sale discussion.
