Minutes from the September 8, 2008 Meeting

President Betty S called the meeting to order at 7:15pm.

Members discussed highs and lows of the gardening season.

A motion was made to accept the minutes of the May minutes with the correction of - the night before the plant sale as Friday rather than Saturday. Susan R made a motion to accept the minutes as corrected, seconded by Cathy J. Motion passed.

Highlights of the June member garden tour were discussed. Members whose gardens were on the tour were thanked for allowing the group to tour their gardens. All of the gardens were beautiful. Susan R noted that next year Michelle B's garden will be on the tour.

Susan G told the group that the Share the Bounty program was discontinued this year. As a result, the local food shelf was overwhelmed with fresh produce donations. Susan and Margaret S are looking for volunteers to help distribute the overflow.

Susan R will update the group on American in Bloom.

Mae W told the group that budget planning is starting soon. Please give any budget idea to Mae as soon as possible.

Betty S reminded members of the topics of the upcoming meetings.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:30pm.
