Minutes from the March 3, 2008 Meeting
President Betty Sc called the meeting to order at 7:00pm. Betty talked about the February presentation, America in Bloom. If anyone would like more information about America in Bloom, contact Susan Reese or Margaret Smith.
Betty S introduced herself as the new president for 2008. The other officers are: Susan G as Vice-president, Mae W as Treasurer, and Kim K as Secretary.
As there were no additions or corrections to the December minutes as printed in the February newsletter, a motion to accept the minutes as printed was made by Susan R and seconded by Susan G. The motion passed.
There was an error on in the snail mail copy of the March newsletter. The event below is the corrected version.

Go Wild! Gardening with Native Plants of Wisconsin
Eau Claire, WI
Wisconsin's native plants make a great addition to any garden or landscape. This
presentation by Lynn Steiner at 7:00 p.m. defines native plants and describes
Wisconsin's native plant heritage, discusses benefits of using native plants,
talks about how to use native plants effectively and attractively in the
landscape, and shows examples of native gardens, offering detailed information
on selecting plants appropriate for landscape use. Free. At the L.E. Phillips

Plant Sale
The plant sale is planned for Saturday, May 10. Start thinking about dividing
perennials to sell in the sale. The sale is the same weekend as last year, only
two days earlier.

Betty S will reuse plastic shopping bags for the Farmer's Market.
Ursula P
Ursula broke her hip and has a partial hip replacement. She is currently in the
hospital but should be home by Wednesday.
Kinnickinnic River Clean-Up
The Kinnickinnic River Land Trust is looking for volunteers to help with the
Kinnickinnic River clean-up on Saturday, May 17 (one week after the plant sale).
Contact Margaret S at 425-5738 to volunteer.
Membership
Mae reported that the club has 27 members. If you have not paid your 2008
membership, please do. The club welcomes new members. Club members should feel
free to recruit new members. One of Betty's goals as president is to increase
membership.

As there was no other new or old business, Margaret S made a motion to adjourn the meeting. The motion was seconded by Susan R. The motion passed and the meeting adjourned at 7:20pm
