Minutes from the April 3, 2006 Meeting
President Susan R called the meeting to order at 7:00pm.

As there were no additions or corrections to the March 2006 minutes as printed in the April newsletter, a motion was made by Joanne F to accepted the minutes. The motion was seconded by Debbie B. The motion passed.

Treasurer's Report
Treasurer Mae W reported the following:
Total net worth as of today is $7,101.65

Old Business
Plant Sale
President Susan R reminded members that the annual plant sale is on Saturday, May 27, which is the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. Susan passed around a sign-up sheet for volunteering with the plant sale. Jobs needed for the plant sale include:

bulletDistribute flyers
bulletGet boxes/flats and bring to the Armory
bulletProvide publicity to WEVR and the newspaper
bulletHelp set-up on Friday night
bulletBring your truck to deliver plants to and from UWRF
bulletBe a plant consultant for customers
bulletAssist customers with carrying during the sale
bulletCashiers and assistants
bulletClean up the armory after the sale

She also asked that members start thinking about what plants they will be bring to the plant sale. Divide your perennials in time for the plants to look healthy at the sale. Remember, you can get a 50% split from the price of sold plants. Last year, the public was disappointed that the member plants sold out so quickly. Please bring lots of plants!

New Business
Library Flower Show
Member Kim K asked members for opinions about the format for a judged flower show at the River Falls Public Library. Members thought a less formal show would be favorable. Any one who has ideas or would like to help with a flower show should contact Katie C at the library at 425-0905.

Community Garden
Member Kim K told members that Katie C and Dianne E are interested in creating a community garden in River Falls. Members had lots of great suggestions and ideas about community gardens. Member Renae P said she would be willing to help create a community garden. Again, anyone would like to help should contact Katie Chaffee.

Announcements

Susan R passed around a sign-up sheet for the August field trip and for volunteering to bring treats to the meeting.

Susan told members that the White Pathway might be burned by the DNR. If it is burned, please be ready to offer a response that points out the positive benefits of burning the pathway.

Member Renae P asked if the club is planning on doing a Main Street garden. Susan said that the club will not be doing a Main Street garden this year but encourages members to volunteer for a Second Street garden.
