Minutes from the March 7, 2004 Meeting

President Susan R called the meeting to order at 7:10 pm. Before the business meeting began, member Ursula P discussed and demonstrated successful techniques for propagating geraniums using stem cuttings.

As there were no additions for corrections to the February minutes as printed in the March newsletter, a motion was made to accept the minutes as printed by Ron Z, seconded by Carolyn B. The motion passed.

2005 Budget
Treasurer Mae W discussed the 2005 budget as printed in the March newsletter and discussed at previous meetings. There were two changes since last discussed. $100 has been added as a separate line item for Habitat for Humanity and $225 for plant sale tags expenses.

Ursula P made a motion to accept the budget as printed in the March newsletter, seconded by Betty S. The motion passed.

New Business
Soil Tests
Soil test kits will be available at the next meeting. Instructions will be printed on the bag. Take separate samples from different testing areas such as lawn, flower gardens, and vegetable gardens. Ron Z noted that it is best to take samples from the same location from year to year to track soil health.

Carolyn B - Garden U coming up on Saturday, April 9 from 9am to 3:30pm at Bethel Lutheran Church in Hudson.

Susan G wanted to thank Lori N for her dedication to the club. Lori's mother passed away on the day of the club meeting and although Lori did not attend the March meeting, she still brought treats for the club. Let's all keep Lori in our thoughts.
