Minutes from the December 3, 2005

President Susan R called the meeting to order at 7:00pm.

As there were no additions or corrections to the November minutes, a motion was made by Nancy S to approve the minutes as printed in the December newsletter. The motion was seconded by Renae P. Motion passed.

Treasurer's Report

Total net worth as of today is $8,430.66

This consists of the following accounts:

Checking Account - $72.05
Savings Account - $4,241.93
Certificate of Deposit - $4,104.09
Petty Cash - $10.00
Stamps - $2.59

Activity since the last report on Nov 7 was as follows:

Comments about the 2005 budget.

There was $1114 extra income.
A few budget items were below budget.
Interest income was less than expected for the year.
The club still need to fund the $800 scholarships for UWRF horticulture students.
Remaining funds for community gardens, about $716, will be spent on community tree care.
Speaker fees were $500 below budget.

Possible Summer 2006 Field Trip
Ideas for a field trip included:

Spring Valley Roses
The Artful Garden Tour
MN Arboretum

A suggestion was made to have the field trip earlier in the summer, perhaps June, for peak color viewing.

January Board Meeting
There will be a board meeting in January. The date is not yet set. Please contact Susan in early January for the date. Ideas about the plant sale will be discussed at the board meeting.
