Year-to-Date vs. Budget:

Income: Gross Plant Sale revenue $1,751 above Plan ($5,601 vs. $3,850).

Expenses: Just slightly above Plan ($114 over).

Plant sale split higher due to higher revenue, but Community Benefit expenses $585 below (Share the Bounty, Academy
entrance design, and Habitat for Humanity not yet paid for this year). Plant sale costs are $193 over Plan, due primarily to purchase of calculators, new plastic to cover tables, and storage containers to store supplies.

Year-to-Date vs. Last Year:

Income: Slightly below ($321) due plant sale income $262 less than last year.

Expenses: Higher than last year on Miscellaneous (2 large smokestack bricks purchased) and higher plant sale costs (primarily purchase of calculators, new plastic to cover tables, and storage containers to store supplies). Lower year-to-date on speaker fees. Plant sale split is included in June results whereas they were included in July's expenses last year.

Old Business

The Plant Sale

Mae W noted during her Treasurer's report that this year's plant sale was remarkably similar to the 2003 sale, which was a record sale. The 2004 plant sale had less plants for sale but about the same amount of plants sold.

Anne K stated that the later May date helped as more member plants were ready for the sale. The club should have the sale around the same time next year.

Nancy M reported the plant sale billboard sign missing to the police and public works department. The sign has not been recovered.

1387 UWRF plants were sold in the sale, even more than last year. This year UWRF sorted all the plants and did all the tag marking for the plants, which was wonderful.

Give any ideas/suggestions about the plant sale to Susan R. There was a 2 hour board meeting on June 2 to discuss the plant sale.

Ursula P remarked upon how much she loves the plant sale. Everyone worked together!

There will be an odd amount for the member plant sale checks due to discrepancies in the amount of money collected. The amount was evenly distributed in the member checks.

2005 Speaker Suggestions
Please give suggestions to Susan R.
Would members like a meeting without a speaker just to share gardening ideas? Perhaps next June? Speakers from City Hall could discuss city parks and/or Heritage Park.

Announcements
