River Falls Garden Club Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order by President Anne K at 7:03.
Anne asked if there where any additions or corrections to the minutes? No corrections, minutes stand as printed in the newsletter.
Treasurer's Report
Total net worth as of today is $4,645.40.
This consists of the following accounts:
Checking Account - $43.12
Savings Account - $765.49
Certificate of Deposit - $3,824.48
Petty Cash - $10.00
Stamps - $2.31
Activity since the last meeting on April 7 was as follows:

Income of $15:
Memberships 2003 - $10 (1 x $10 member)
Guest fees - $0 (None at April meeting)
Interest Earned - $5 Interest on Savings
Expenses of $477:
Speaker fees - $150 ($100 April meeting, $50 May)
Meeting Supplies - $25 Five door prizes (books)
Postage - $18 Mail May newsletter x 48
Print & Copy Costs - $15 May newsletter production
Community Benefit - $150 Share the Bounty seed envelope. printing
Plant sale postage - $36 Mail (156 postcards)
Plant sale costs - $83 (Plastic sticks (3000), poster paper)
Year-to-date financial position is down $132 vs. last year, primarily due to lower membership and higher speaker fees.
Relative to the budget, we are $70 below planned membership revenue. On the positive side, expenses are somewhat lower, with Share the Bounty coming in $100 below budget.
Old Business
Plant Sale
Set-up in on Friday, May 23. The sign-up sheet for plant sale was passed around.
Anne went over the categories that were short on volunteers. Many people either
volunteered or signed up to help with the plant sale.
New Business
The artful garden tour is coming up.
May 31 through June 12 is the Floral Art Show at the Library. Feel free to bring in cut flower arrangements during the display.
Announcements
Volunteers are needed to help with the Public Library gardens. Contact Kim at
the library (kiiski@ifls.lib.wi.us or 425-0905) if you would like to help.
Monday, June 9 at 7:00 there will be meeting at the library about the benefits of composting, The meeting is free and open to the public.
It was mentioned that at the Spring Fling, packages of cut flower food was sold. Perhaps we should sell the same at our sale. May W has the cut flower food and will package it for our sale.
