We had planned to exit the year $1,133 less than we had began, but instead we incresed our assets by $1,062. While spending so far this year is $93 more than budgeted, income is $2,288 higher than budgeted. Memberships were under by $55 but the gross proceeds from the Plant Sale were $2.363 above Plan.

On the spending side, we are $100 less than budget on the following: civic plant beds, Share the Bounty, and other community benefits. In addition, as of today we have $346 remaining in our library donation budget. Payouts for the plant sale split were $1134 higher than Plan due to higher plant sales. Other plant sale expenses were $120 under budget, and speaker fees were $205 under budget. Meeting supplies were $59 under plan because we did not have to replenish the door prize inventory. Postage is $9 under budget due to slightly lower membership than planned (51 vs. 55). Work on the 2004 budget in currently in progress.

Ursula also collected membership dues and forms for 2004. There were no comments or additions in regards to the Treasurer's Report.

New Business
Proposal by Dr. Carole Mottaz from the Renaissance Academy
Dr. Mottaz gave the group background information on the Renaissance Academy, which was previously the Meyer Middle School. Dr. Mottaz would like to create a garden on the school property for a community park. The project included creating five garden areas. The project needs expert planning, plants, funds for plants and landscaping, and individuals to work with teachers, and possibly, students. Possible funding sources include Anna Marie and Scott's grants.

After Dr. Mottaz proposal, Susan R suggested that the group, at this time, take the proposal under advisement. The group will discuss the proposal project at either the next executive meeting or full group business meeting.

Election of Officers
The slate of officers included:

bulletSusan R for President
bulletSusan G for Vice-President\
bulletMae Wfor Treasurer
bulletKim K for Secretary

Ron Z moved to accept the slate of officers, the motion was seconded and passed.

Susan R and Susan G were originally the nominating committee for the election of officers but after not finding eager candidates for the officers, decided to nominate themselves. An idea that would benefit the group would be to have a board of directors which would include other members who would be interested in helping to direct the group.

Budget for 2004
Mark M asked if the group could have a budget amount for Habitat for Humanity. The idea will be discussed at the next meeting.

There was a move to close the meeting, which was seconded and passed.
