Minutes of the September 9, 2002 Meeting

Anne K. called the meeting to order at 7:10pm.  Trudy O. made a motion to accept the minutes as written in the newsletter, seconded by Lori N,. motion carried.

Mae W. gave the treasurer's report.  The club has a net worth of $7192.25 which includes $3750.65 in the Heritage Park CD, and $3351.25 in checking and savings.  This reflects activity since June 3 with income of $206 and expenses of $155 (including $100 for Share the Bounty - printing 1500 seed packets).  Mae reported that the Share the Bounty printing costs were $50 over the budgeted amount and she paid the difference herself.  Judy M. made a motion to reimburse Mae for the amount of the additional expenses for Share the Bounty seed packet printing she personally paid for.  Motion seconded and passed.

Anne K. presented a letter she received from UWRF regarding the River Falls Garden Club scholarship recipients.  She asked that it be printed in the next newsletter so all members could read about the recipients.  The two recipients are Gregory Ruskell from Chatfield, MN and Daniel Thelen from Clear Lake, WI.

Anne asked for suggestions to good causes/activities for the Garden Club to support through our fundraising efforts.  Please call her with suggestions.

Trudy O. would like to arrange for club members to see Noerenberg Gardens in Lake Minnetonka.  She will call to find out when the season closes and send emails to members with a time to go see it together.

Anne reported that several Garden Club members will be participating in the art fair in Maiden Rock on September 21.

Lori N. made a motion to close the meeting.  Trudy seconded, motion passed.
