Minutes of the last meeting in May where in the newsletter. Minutes stand as reported.
Treasurer's Report
Net worth as increased to $7141. Most of the money is in the CD, the rest is in
savings. The increase is due to the plant sale.
Plant Sale results
We had a record year with the plant sale. The gross of the plant sale was $3766.
Expenses were $1990. The overall gain with sales was $1763 with 2226 plants
sold.
Many generous people donated all of their share of sales to the garden club for a total of $312 with donations of shares of the sales and cash gifts. We also had 2 new members sign up during the plant sale.
Even with the addition of insurance, expenses were about the same as previous years. This year we did not have the expense of car wash tokens, table rentals, etc. However, car wash tokens were purchased in advance when they were on sale. Members can purchase the tokens at cost for $5.00.
Other plant sale business Ursula made a comment that we need to be more careful next year at the end of the sale as the front door to the Armory was left open.
A suggestion was made that perhaps next year we can try to reserve the armory a week later in the month to allow for extra time for plants to be ready for the sale. The club can make a reservation for the Armory in November.
Overall, everyone agreed the Armory was a great location for the sale.
Next year, we'll need to have a price tag on each plant as this year's tally system was not the best method of keeping track of sales for the cashiers.
A suggestion was made that next year we advertise for customers to bring something to carry plants out with, such as carts or wagons. Also we need even more cardboard flats for carry out for next year's sale.
The empty staging tables were very popular with customers. A suggestion was made that next year we either have extra tables or an area on the floor covered with plastic and rope for a staging area.
New Business
