April 1, 2002 Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order by Kim K (President Anne K and Vice President Tina A were absent).

Correction or additions to the March minutes included: a correction by Ursula P, the large bricks for the Save Our Smokestack fundraiser are $130, as opposed to $135; and in the Treasurer's Report, $50 was for the speaker fee, not guest fees. As corrections, a motion was made to accept the minutes by Nancy S, seconded by Susan R. Motion passed.

Treasurer's Report
Treasurer Mae W reported that the club has a net worth of $5464.50 with $26.96 in the checking account, $1668.37 in savings, $3677.00 in the CD, $60.00 in other assets, $10.00 in petty cash, and $22.10 in stamps. Ursula P made a motion to accept the Treasurer's Report, seconded by Nancy S.  Motion passed.

Old Business
Nancy G discussed the plant sale which will be on Saturday, May 11 from 9am - 12noon at the Armory. The Armory is a really nice place to have the sale. However, there is no parking right next to the building due to security concerns. Nancy gave info on the plant sale, how to pot, tag, and label the plants. Kim suggested leaving the labels in the library at her desk so they would be available for all of April. Nancy will mail information on the plant sale to each club member. People are planning on meeting at the Armory next Monday at 4pm to plan for the sale. Nancy read a list of "help needed" items. Sales from the plant sale to 50% to the club and 50% to the person selling the plant.

There will be a pre-sale for club members 30 minutes before the sale (8:30-9:00). It was decided that members only purchase 10-12 plants during the pre-sale.

Rose R made a motion to end the meeting, seconded by Susan R. Motion passed.

Please leave any items that are needed for future meetings, such as the name tags or plant sale stakes in the library meeting room. I'll pick up whatever is left the following Tuesday morning and store them at the library between meetings. I usually leave shortly after the speaker is done so I am not still at the meeting when the last person leaves but feel free to leave club items.
