Minutes for November 5, 2001

The meeting was called to order by President Margaret S.  Judy J. made a motion to approve the October minutes; seconded by Lori N, motion carried.

Mae W. gave the Treasurer's report.  Total net worth of $6596.57 which includes $2975.89 in checking and savings, with $3611.02 in the Heritage Park CD.  Ursula P. made a motion to approve the report, seconded by Melanie E., motion carried.

Kay W. reported on the education box for preschool through grade 3.  The notebook with lesson plans is completed; most books are in or on order.  The box should be ready by December.  It will contain books, videos, finger plays, seeds, lesson plan, etc.

New Business

Margaret S. reported that Tina A. agreed to fill the Vice President position; the president position still needs to be filled.  Margaret will continue to do the newsletter (with Mae W.) and arrange speakers.

Members suggested the following topics for potential programs in 2002: tress, landscaping -tying gardens together, garden rooms, garden structures, garden cohesion/unity, garden paths, flower arranging (cut flowers), lawn care, home irrigation systems, low water use plants (xeriscaping), photography, review of garden books.

Ursula asked for cottage cheese and yogurt containers for use in the plant sale.  Please call Ursula or drop containers off at her home.
